Murray & Guari's Back to School Safety Tips

WEST PALM BEACH, FL - With school just around the corner, the lawyers at Murray & Guari Trial Attorney wanted to share some important Back to School Safety Tips, as thousands of kids head back to school and take to Florida's roadways.

Did you know that the act of getting to and from school has the greatest potential for danger than any other single act performed during the school day? Education is a powerful tool for changing behavior, improving safety skills and promoting responsibility of both adults and children

Safety Tips For Parents:

• Watch for children, slow down and be aware of school zones

• Reduce distractions by putting cell phones away

• Pay attention in school loading and unloading zones

• Use your mirrors and look around your vehicle before backing up

• Wear your seatbelt and make sure children are secured in age- and size-appropriate car seats
  

Safety Tips For Children:

• Plan a safe walking route to school or the bus stop, never talk to strangers

• Only cross the street at designated crosswalks and obey pedestrian safety rules

• Learn how to get on and off the school bus and how to ride while on the bus

• If you ride a bike, always wear a bicycle helmet and obey all traffic rules

• Do not play video games or text while walking to and from school
